Cross Timbers Senior Citizens Support Task Force, Inc. (Mineral Wells Senior Center) was established in 1994 to set basic policies and develop beneficial programs for the particular needs and concerns of the Senior Citizens of Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County
The Mineral Wells Senior Center shall promote the welfare of the residents of Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County who are 50 years of age or over, whether active, frail, or homebound. The Task Force does not discriminate based on age, race, sex, color, religion, national origin, or disability.
Through the following efforts, the Task Force shall:
- Provide a safe, friendly meeting place.
- Plan and develop services that meet the needs of older persons through the Mineral Wells Senior Center and other community-based programs and services
- Provide programs consisting of a wide variety of services and activities that will be available to older persons in areas such as education, creative arts, recreation, advocacy, leadership development, employment, health, nutrition, social work, and other supportive services.
- Serve as a community resource for information on aging and for developing new approaches to programs for and concerns of the aging population.
- Provide and complement other endeavors that will enhance the physical and mental well-being of senior citizens and enable independent living to the greatest extent.
The Mineral Wells Senior Center does not rely on any State or Federal Funding and is able to operate only through the generous support of residents, businesses, and working closely with other local non-profit organizations.
